USU congratulates Michael Want on Lifetime membership

FORMER Federated Clerks Secretary and USU Executive President Michael Want was recently presented with Lifetime Membership of the USU.

Michael was elected as General Secretary of the Federated Clerks Union for three terms. 

Scott Llewllyn presents Michael with the award.Following the amalgamation with the MEU, Michael became the Executive President of the Union.

Michael held many other positions within the union movement and was on the Executive of Labour Council from 1995. He was a Trustee at Labor Council from 1995, and also held a position on the Clerks Conciliation Committee and the Retail Committee.

The Life Membership was presented to Michael by Scott Llewellyn - President of the Hunter C&A Branch. Other speakers wishing Michael well were, Rhonda Barton, Marilyn Timmins, Maryanne Stuart and Julie Griffiths.

Michael responded with many thanks for the support he received during his time at the USU. He stated how proud he was to be part of the USU and the union movement. Michael said he enjoyed and cherished all of the lifelong friendships he made while in his role.
