Newcastle Permanent Building Society Bargaining For A New Agreement: WHO WILL BE HELPING YOU?

USU MEMBERS IN LEVELS 1-3 SHOULD NOT SIGN THE NOMINATION OF A BARGAINING REPRESENTATIVE FORM RECENTLY SENT OUT BY NPBS MANAGEMENT. WHY?

BECAUSE YOUR UNION IS THE DEFAULT BARGAINING AGENT FOR ITS MEMBERS.

THAT MEANS WE WILL REPRESENT OUR MEMBERS AT THE NEGOTIATING TABLE.

IF YOU DO NOMINATE ANOTHER PERSON THE USU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BARGAIN FOR YOU.

WHY HAVE YOUR UNION BARGAIN FOR YOU?

  • THE USU will be asking for your input into what goes into your new agreement
  • THE USU will base our claims on what you want
  • THE USU will provide updates on the progress of the negotiations
  • THE USU will be available to talk to you throughout this process
  • THE USU has years of experience in negotiating collective agreements

It is also important to note the USU can only represent its members
So who represents employees who are not USU members?
NO ONE -  unless they formally appoint a bargaining representative
