Fight for the Future

By Ben Kruse
USU General Secretary
Jan 1, 2007

The Howard Government’s extreme industrial relations changes have created havoc with Australian workplaces.

USU General Secretary Ben Kruse talks with members about WotkChoices: “Over the past few months I have visited many workplaces right across NSW and members say they want to fight for a fair go for the future.”

Federal Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews promised the changes would be simple and fair. Instead we have been left with a legalistic and complicated system leaving management and employees alike in a state of confusion about basic issues such as the payment of general increases.

The USU remains committed to working with our members, employers and industry parties to retain and promote a fair and decent system of industrial regulation for all sectors.

If you have any further enquires or wish to become more actively involved in The Your Rights at Work campaign please talk to your local Union Delegate or contact the USU Information Centre on 1300 136 604.
