Newcastle Permanent Building Society: What's Happening with Your Agreement?

Negotiations have commenced for a new Enterprise Agreement for Newcastle Permanent employees in Levels 1-3.

The United Services Union has put forward an extensive list of issues to be addressed, otherwise known as a log of claims, included in this log are areas of concern such as:

  • Rates of Pay
  • Hours of Work
  • Overtime and time in lieu provisions
  • Penalty rates for Saturday work
  • Review / benchmarking of Member Service Centre wages
  • Increase in paid parental leave provisions

USU officials and delegates along with other nominated bargaining representatives have been meeting management on a weekly basis and, to date, negotiations have been very constructive.

Management will be sending regular updates to all staff covered by the proposed Agreement and we feel it is important for our members to obtain a balanced view on negotiations.

In this regard USU members will shortly receive a flyer containing more specific information regarding the Unions claim and Management’s response to date.
