Air Niugini Enterprise Agreement 2009

By the ASU, the airlines industry union

May 27, 2010

After several months of negotiations the ASU negotiating team have negotiated a draft agreement with management.

The draft agreement is summarised as follows:

  • 2 year agreement expiring on 1 July 2011
  • 2% pay increase per year backdated to 1 July 2009
  • New minimum and maximum pay rates based on the Overseas Airline Award classification structure
  • Annual Performance Reviews
  • Roll over of all previous 2007 Agreement conditions with no concessions on existing wages and conditions (including Saturday penalty rates and District Allowance)
  • Workplace/union delegates' rights to assist them represent staff and attend ASU national airline conferences
  • Updated Allowances
  • New Fair Work Act requirements for staff consultation, flexibility and National Employment Standards

You can download the marked up and clean version of the draft agreement below.

Your turn to vote

A ballot of all staff covered by the proposed EA will be held in the next few weeks. If the agreement is voted up it will be lodged with Fair Work Australia for approval.

Outstanding District Allowance

A number of North Queensland staff have not yet received their District Allowance and the ASU has, separate from EA negotiations, been pursuing this as a matter of priority and should not be held up by the EA voting and approval process.

If you have any questions about the draft agreement please contact your ASU/USU representatives:
