WAVERLEY RESCUE: WCCEA 2010 YOUR AGREEMENT RIPPED UP

On 25 May 2010 your General Manager, Anthony Reed, served notification of termination of Waverley Council Condition of Enterprise dated 22 March 2005. In other words the General Manager, Mr Reed, is ripping up Your Agreement. The Council has sent a notice to the Industrial Relations Commission to terminate the agreement in the next 3 months. This has shown contempt for those members and officials who have invested a lot of time and effort into the agreement process.
This is not a new tactic applied by Council. They made the same threat in 2005 after more than 2 years of negotiations. This time they're doing it for real, but have only waited 3 months and 3 weeks to do so.
These hard fought conditions should not be taken away with a stroke of a pen. You should have your say - tell Council what you think of this outrageous and unwarranted attack on your conditions of employment.
What will you lose? By doing this the GM is taking away your:
Service margin
Disability Allowance
Maternity Leave
Industrial days
Sick Leave
Access to Child Care
Training Leave
Carers Leave
Long Parental Leave
Concessional leave for Child Care
Centre Workers.
Bereavement Leave
Leave for Civil Emergencies
Religious & Ceremonial Leave
Military Leave
Gratuity Bank
Paid out Sick Leave
Long Service Leave
Fixed Roster Public Holiday Arrangements
Sick Leave
Short Parental leave
The United Services Union does NOT believe that Council's actions constitute bargaining in good faith. The USU, with the participation of the members at Waverley Council, will fight to win back the conditions that Council is stripping away.
The USU will also be reviewing Waverley Council's Bullying and Harassment Policy in relation to this most recent episode.
Stay tuned these are your conditions of employment and we all need to be involved in the rescue!!
