LIVERPOOL COUNCIL LONG SERVICE LEAVE: UPDATE

On Thursday 24 June a loyal member sent the USU a copy of Liverpool Council's 2007 Long Service Leave Policy which confirms that employees could accumulate over and above the amount of leave prescribed in the Local Government State Award, contradicting Council's move to force staff to use up accumulated LSL.

The Union has written to Council seeking an urgent meeting with the Acting General Manager to discuss concerns that Liverpool City Council has deliberately misled its employees over the issue of Long Service Leave entitlements by not informing or tabling the LSL policy dated November 2007 to the Joint Consultative Committee in April 2010.

A copy of this letter has also been sent to all USU members. If you would like a copy of this letter, please contact the Union's Support team on 1300 136 604.
