Applications are sought for the position of Organiser within the Sydney
Metropolitan Area. The position is located at the Union’s Sydney (head)
Office.
The position requires the ability to attend to the needs of the membership in all industry sectors covered by the Union, i.e. Local Government, Clerical and Administrative, Airlines and Energy and Utilities.
USU employees enjoy a nine-day fortnight; however, due to the nature of the position a flexible approach to working hours is an essential requirement. The USU offers attractive conditions of employment.
Applicants will need to be self-starters, motivated, able to analyse and resolve industrial conflict, have superior negotiation skills and an ability to communicate both orally and in written form.
You should have a strong commitment to the principles of Trade Unionism and an understanding of Industry Awards / Agreements.
A vehicle for undertaking field duties will be provided.
Salary range is from grade 3 level 1 $1,195.00pw ($62,310 pa + super) to grade 3 level 5 $1,365.00pw ($71,175 pa + super).
