Hurstville Workers STILL Won't Back Down: EMPLOYEES URGED TO ATTEND COUNCIL MEETING

When: Wednesday 28th of November Where: Hurstville council chambers, Macmahon Street, Hurstville Time: 7.00pm Local Government employees at Hurstville city council have shown overwhelming support for continued union negotiations with management for a council agreement and improved % wage increases.
Council’s offer of a 3.2% wage increase for a 12 month period only has been overwhelmingly rejected by the mass meeting held on Thursday the 22nd of November.
The meeting noted the flyer from the General Manager identified that all Hurstville city council are employed under a NAPSA (Notional agreement preserving the Local Government State award 2004). And made it clear that the increases provided by the Local Government State Award do not apply.
The workers voted to attend the next council meeting to show there support for better wages and conditions.
