The Iemma Government is recalling parliament a month early from its winter recess to push through a vote on the legislation to sell off areas of the NSW Power Industry. Parliament will resume this Thursday August 28 in a desperate attempt by the NSW Government to bluff the opposition into supporting its defective legislation after the NSW Auditor General handed down his report into the sale of electricity assets in NSW. This was yet another report with narrow terms of reference that supplied the outcome the NSW Government desired in order to support their plans.
This week all members must mobilise to apply as much pressure as possible to all MP’s no matter what their political party. Labor, Liberal, Greens, Independent. We all must ensure that our politicians realise that in all the polling done, the NSW public are opposed to the sale of their assets and will hold those MP’s who vote in favor of the legislation accountable at the next election.
Send an email to all MP’s letting them know that you expect them to support the will of the people of NSW and to vote against the legislation to privatise areas of the NSW power industry when it is brought before them this week.
Send an email now, send it often, ring your MP and have your family members do the same. Make sure you utilise the next few days and leave the MP’s in no doubt, if they put our power industry up for grabs, we will ensure their seat is up for grabs !
