WOLLONGONG RADIO DOCTORS: DISMISSAL OF WORKERS WITH DISABILITIES RALLY

By Rudi Oppitz
USU Organiser
Nov 3, 2008

A rally is to be held on Thursday 6th November  to show support for individuals with disabilities trying to enter or re-enter the workforce. Recently Wollongong Radio Doctors (WRD) (run by local Doctors) dismissed 12 of their disabled workers from their call centre. Their actions are reprehensible
PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION

What does this mean?
Not only do we have hardworking disabled workers thrown out of work, the Illawarra community also loses 12 job positions specifically set up for workers with disabilities. Our fight to save these jobs is not only about wages and money; our fight to save these jobs is also about the non financial benefits - such as self esteem and self worth - workers with disabilities gain by being employed in open employment.

Come along to our rally and show your support for these workers.

Come along and enjoy our sausage sizzle.

If you would like any further information relating to the rally or this matter, please contact Organiser Rudi Oppitz on:
0409 662 460.
