Parramatta City Council Members: Have Your Say About YOUR Pay & Conditions

By Jim Carter
USU Organiser
Mar 10, 2009

Parramatta City Council employees have enjoyed fair and reasonable working conditions since 2004 via the staff Enterprise Agreement (PCC EA). It's time again for the Union to negotiate a new Enterprise Agreement on your behalf. Essentially, these conditions are an enhancement to the Local Government State Award 2007 and are often specific to PCC staff.

The EA ensures that PCC is an employer of choice for recruitment and assists in staff retention.

We all agree that our working conditions are extremely important and are a vital part of making our working life happy and rewarding. The United Services Union (USU) encourages every employee to be involved and have their say and input in to the new Enterprise Agreement.

Some examples of potential new EA conditions may be:
  • 9 day fortnight
  • improved maternity leave provisions
  • enhanced salary sacrifice entitlements
  • higher employer superannuation contributions
To view the existing PCC EA YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT HERE (pdf format) or check the PCC Staff Intranet.

Here are some simple ways to help improve your work conditions and get involved:

1)    Please complete the attached application form and then our survey.

Information provided to the Union by employees/members from the survey will form the basis of the “Log of Claims” that the USU will seek to negotiate for inclusion in the EA.

2)    A working committee will be formed to progress negotiations; if you would like to be a part of the committee or require further information please contact:

  • Your local USU delegate
  • Your USU Member Support Team on 1300 136 604
  • Your USU Organiser Jim Carter on 0427 761 320
