LIVERPOOL COUNCIL LONG SERVICE LEAVE: UPDATE Jun 25, 2010: On Thursday 24 June a loyal member sent the USU a copy of Liverpool
Council's 2007 Long Service Leave Policy which confirms that employees
could accumulate over and above the amount of leave prescribed in the
Local Government State Award, contradicting Council's move to force
staff to use up accumulated LSL.

Armaguard EBA negotiations May 26, 2010: During the EBA meeting of Wednesday 19th May 2010 the USU had the opportunity to respond to the Managements log of Claims which is set out below. Armaguard management also indicated they will be making a presentation on a proposed new rostering system during the next meeting scheduled on Wednesday 26th May, they stated the proposal would include the percentage increases for the next enterprise agreement.

BUPA Australia Enterprise Agreement Time to Vote May 6, 2010: BUPA staff would be aware by now that bargaining negotiations between management, union and employee representatives have been completed with a draft agreement now subject to a staff ballot.

Armaguard: USU says NO to trade offs Apr 21, 2010: Negotiations for a new Armaguard NSW (Clerical and Administrative Employees) Enterprise Agreement have commenced. Meetings between Armaguard management and relevant unions, including the United Services Union, were held on 14 and 21 April. On the 20 April, a meeting of USU delegates and full time Officials was held.
