| Your Union has developed a training package to meet the needs of Clerical & Administrative members in the workplace. Training will be offered in metropolitan and regional areas based on demand. The courses will be offered on one Saturday per month over 4 months at nominated training venues. The dates for 2008 will be published shortly. The training provided includes:-

- History of the Union Movement
- Overview of the C&A Sector – “the only constant is change”
- Rights and responsibilities of Union Members
- Promote the values, principles and policies of the USU
- Occupational Health & Safety and YOU!
Module 2 - Winning In the Workplace:
- Help strengthen & grow Union representation
- Organising the Union in your workplace
- Identifying & developing Activists
- Developing Workplace Organising Committees
- Empowering members
Module 3 - Negotiating Skills:
- How to read and interpret Awards/Collective Agreements
- Negotiating skills and tools
- Dispute handling procedures
- Mediation techniques
Module 4 - Collective Bargaining and Collective Unionism:
- Advantages of Collective Bargaining and Agreements
- Workchoices (Federal Government’s Workplace Act)
- Campaigning on an issue
- Organising for success
