PROTECTING OUR STATE AWARD: TIME FOR KEVIN RUDD AND NATHAN REES TO HONOUR PROMISES TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES Apr 2, 2009: With the new Fair Work Australia federal industrial relations changes having passed into law Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard is now chairing a series of meetings with State Industrial Relations Ministers to reach agreement on how these new laws will apply to employees presently engaged under State awards. The USU is calling on the State and Federal governments to stand by pre-election commitments to protect our NSW State award and state industrial rights.

Parramatta City Council Members: Have Your Say About YOUR Pay & Conditions Mar 10, 2009: Parramatta City Council employees have enjoyed fair and reasonable working conditions since 2004 via the staff Enterprise Agreement (PCC EA). It's time again for the Union to negotiate a new Enterprise Agreement on your behalf. Essentially, these conditions are an enhancement to the Local Government State Award 2007 and are often specific to PCC staff.

NO more silence at Kempsey Council Feb 12, 2009: Members at Kempsey Shire Council will be aware that on Friday 6 February 2009, a number of Union members bravely told their stories to Commissioner John Stanton of the NSW Industrial Relations Commission. Commissioner Stanton listened to our members grievances with compassion and empathy.
