As the federal election draws closer the USU has sought a commitment from candidates across NSW to pledge their support for USU members and their families. The USU believes this election is very much about the working rights of Australian families and with a possible change in government in NSW in 2011 it has never been more important to protect the Local Government State Award, improve federal Modern Awards and commit to the protection of training and job protection. The USU is supporting candidates who are prepared to support USU members by signing our pledge.
