Mar 2, 2010: On 24 February 2010 the USU filed dispute proceedings in the  Industrial Relations Commission for the 2010 Local Government (State) Award.

Council rate pegging must go before communities suffer
Feb 18, 2010: The State Government.s decision to reduce the 2010-11 rate cap for NSW councils to 2.6 per cent will have a severe impact on the services communities rely on, said the United Services Union (USU) today.

Local Government Award 2010: What Members Want
Feb 16, 2010: The Union is preparing to file a new Local Government (State) Award in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission. In the lead up to this process the Union undertook a survey of members. The response from members was tremendous -  over 400 surveys were received by late October 2009.  The following is a summary of these responses.

Dec 15, 2009: Today the United Services Union (USU) filed proceedings against Gosford City Council in the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission over the closure of the Erina Occasional Child Care Centre.

Gosford childcare workers left out in the cold this Christmas
Dec 10, 2009: Gosford Council plans to permanently close the Erina Occasional Childcare Centre as of Christmas Eve in a move that has been condemned by the United Services Union as bitter and heartless.
