The New Generation USU committee has been working on issues that they believe affect young workers in their workplaces and have been concentrating on ideas that will entice younger workers into the Union Movement.

The New Generation USU committee recognises the importance of ensuring younger workers are members of the union.

New Gen USU
USU at Homebake 2009
Dec 9, 2009: The USU New Gen (youth committee) have carried out their first major event to promote the USU and connect with young workers. Homebake is a one-day music festival held at the domain in Sydney City each year.  Only Australian bands perform and over 20000 people attend each year.  This year  the event was held on Saturday 5th December.

Nov 27, 2009: As part of the USU's role in engaging young workers, promoting your union, and providing a service to USU members; the USU is running a promotional and information stall at this year's Homebake Music Festival.

Workcover Safety Help for Young Workers
Apr 27, 2009: Safety for young workers in the workplace is an important issue for all. Often young workers have not had a lot of experience or opportunities to develop awareness  about safety requirements and may be putting themselves at risk.
