The United Services Union has always celebrated Union Picnic Day.
Union Picnic Day is more than just a day off or the chance to spend some time with your family. It is a day when we can celebrate with other union members the achievements that your union membership has delivered in the past and will continue to deliver for a better future.
In 2002 a new Award clause has been inserted into the Local Government (State) Award 2001 confirming that Union Picnic Day is a holiday for financial members of the Union only.
Union Picnic Day is celebrated for the right reasons - giving employees with a common interest and goal the opportunity to gather together socially to promote a spirit of unity.
All financial members of the USU and their families are entitled to Picnic day tickets if they pay the picnic day levy.
Metropolitan Picnic Day is celebrated on the second Friday in March. Regional members should check our events calender for details about their picnic days or contact their regional branch office for more information. |
