Aug 24, 2010: The Union met with our members of the USU Workplace Organising Committee (WOC) on Wednesday the 18th August at 7am, this meeting of the WOC was a paid meeting, and also attended by Phil Payne.

Jul 21, 2009: It's a case of not-so-well-done at the Well Done Call Centre in South Nowra after it was revealed the centre's 38 employees are being systemically underpaid, harassed and bullied by management.

Broken Hill Council's Shameless Grab for Award Conditions
May 21, 2009: In his email to staff on Tuesday 19th May the General Manager advised that Council has filed the Award in the Industrial Relations Commission to resolve any final issues. What he is really saying is we didn't get what we wanted in negotiations and now we'll try in the Industrial Commission.

Union brings Hurstville Council to book over lost library talent
May 19, 2009: HURSTVILLE library employees have called the council's restructure of services "gut-wrenching''. Eight have taken voluntary redundancies since April, and 21 were offered jobs in the new Library, Museum and Gallery.

Apr 21, 2009: On Thursday 9th April the United Services Union appeared in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission before Commissioner Cambridge to report back on the progress of the current redundancy dispute.

CORPORATE SAVING WORKSHOPS ACROSS MID WESTERN REGIONAL COUNCIL
May 1, 2009: The United Services Union urges all members and employees to attend Workshops in your area and department which have been set-up by MWRC in conjunction with the USU to allow everybody to have a say in where council’s finances could be better utilised.  We need all workers to have an input so bring your ideas to the workshops.
