USU Campaigns for a Fair Go
Apr 9, 2008: USU members and their families should be proud of the part they played in campaigning against the former Howard Government's unfair WorkChoices legislation, however as 2008 has proved - the campaigns for a fair go at work continue.

Ban on New AWAs Welcome - Now it's Time to Scrap WorkChoices
Apr 9, 2008: The USU welcomes the ban on new Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs) that took effect at midnight Friday 28 March however we urge members to continue the campaign to scrap Work Choices in its entirety.

KU Signs a Better Deal for Workers
Apr 9, 2008: After considering the Work Choice Industrial Relations Legislation, it was agreed by both parties - the USU and the KU Children's Services - that the best mechanism to secure future wage increases and above all to lock in employment conditions was to negotiate a union collective agreement.

USU Win for Linfox Member
Apr 9, 2008: USU member Melinda Gadd was subjected to bullying and harassment following a workplace injury. Following action by the USU, Chief Industrial Magistrate Hart ordered that Melinda be paid over $3,300 in pro rata long service leave when she was unable to return to work for Linfox/Armaguard.

USU Campaigns across NSW to Stop Funding Changes that Threaten Jobs
Apr 9, 2008: The New South Wales State Government has again moved to threaten jobs in Local Government by seeking to alter the funding arrangements for RTA work. USU General Secretary Ben Kruse has been visiting members across NSW to campaign against the funding changes.
