The campaign continues Aug 12, 2008: With the Coalition undertaking to support Labor's Transition Bill getting rid of AWAs in the House of Representatives, the battle to get rid of individual contracts is almost won although problems remain in some industries with Individual Transitional Employment Agreements (ITEAs).

Narelle Joins the Team Aug 12, 2008: Narelle Rich moved to Port Macquarie in September 2007 to take up the
position of Organiser in the Port Macquarie Office of the United
Services Union. It is a family affair for Narelle, whose family,
husband Ross and children Oliver (nearly 4) and Mackenna (just 2) made
the move with her, Narelle’s parents who are missing their
grandchildren are also looking forward to a move to Port Macquarie.

WOLLONDILLY SIGNS UP FOR A 2 YEAR AGREEMENT Aug 12, 2008: Wollondilly Shire Council have ensured that USU members have 2 years
protection and will refer any general disputes and unfair dismissals to
the NSW Industrial Commission. Members were concerned that conditions
could still be stripped off them by the Howard Government's draconian
workchoices laws - laws that are not dead or buried just yet.

huge success with a great attendance at both the Wodonga Place Depot
and the Lavington Depot.

Members United at Mid Western Regional Council Aug 11, 2008: In April Organiser Andrew Johnston attended the Mid Western Regional
Council in Mudgee with Central West Seconded Organiser Sharon Sewell
and Acting Manager Southern Greg Golledge to meet staff at the
Recycling Centre and the Works Depot and then Rysltone Depot.
