Minister Agrees with the USU

Water Report: Results are In
Jan 21, 2009: On the 14th January 2009, your Union attended the launch of the NSW Regional Water Report in Orange.  The Report is the Independent Inquiry into Secure and Sustainable Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Services for Non - Metropolitan NSW.

NSW State Government Regional Water Reform Review: Positive Developments
Jul 16, 2008: On Monday July 14th 2008 representatives from the USU, Stephen Hughes Manager North and Robert Potter Water Reform Campaign Co-coordinator met with senior staff from the NSW Minister for Water and Emergency Services Mr Nathan Rees' office in Sydney.  Also in attendance was the NSW State Member for the Cessnock electorate Mr Kerry Hickey who arranged the meeting between the parties.

Keep Water Local Says Report
Jul 16, 2008: Professor Brian Dollery has prepared an independent report in relation to the NSW Government Water Review. In summary the report finds: The USU Commissioned Report has established that any proposed 'regionalisation' of local water utilities in non-metropolitan NSW which removes local control, local ownership and local operation will inflict considerable damage on local councils
and local communities with no economic gains.
