The Tamberlin Report released
The Tamberlin Report says the Government must make its own decision on whether to maintain public ownership of the Transmission and Distribution networks based on public policy. With polling clearly indicating the public are against the selling off of the industry, the USU and our members are calling on Barry O'Farrell to STOP THE SELL OFF.
The report:
1. Recommends that the O'Farrell Government further privatise the Generation sector by way of full sale or long term lease of the generation assets.
2. Finds there is no evidence to support the argument that privatisation of the Transmission and Distribution businesses will benefit the community through efficiencies; and
3. Says the Government must make its own decision on whether to maintain public ownership of the Transmission and Distribution networks based on public policy.
The USU will continue our "Stop the Sell Off" Campaign.
Independent public polling clearly shows that there is opposition in the community for privatising either the Generators or the "Poles and Wires".
We now have to demonstrate to this government that privatisation is not an option, given the current report and public opinion.

The USU has fought to save our members' jobs over the past several years. When the retail sector of the industry was sold we fought for employment protections. We are now trying to save the rest of the industry.
Support the efforts of your union and fellow employees in maintaining public ownership and maintaining employment in NSW.
