Barry says sell: REGIONAL JOBS UNDER THREAT BY BARRY’S SELL OFF PLAN

The O’Farrell Government has announced its intention to sell off the NSW state owned electricity generators and maintain ownership of the poles and wires.
Following a party meeting on Thursday the Premier emerged with their party position for the sale of the generators.
The form and detail with which the O’Farrell Government intend on maintaining the ownership of the network business is yet to be announced.
There is a clear split within the coalition Government on this sale and we believe that the Government needs to listen to the voice of regional NSW and maintain public ownership.
The USU and combined Unions are opposed to any sale and will campaign to keep public ownership of all Electricity assets.
Further information will be provided in coming  days and weeks, in the meantime we encourage all members to actively ensure their petitions are signed and make this the number one issue for regional NSW.
