Some progress at Slaters

USU/ASU delegates and representatives met on 15th February 2018 with Slater and Gordon management and their legal representatives to discuss consultation about the restructure that was announced on 7th February 2018.

Discussions were for the most part productive and at our urging Slater and Gordon management have agreed to confirm which staff and offices are in scope and affected by their decision to exit some businesses.

There is still some work to do on this information and while this is unsatisfactory it is extremely important  that  the  information  is  accurate  and clear.

Your delegates have also stressed the importance of  face  to  face  engagement with staff affected. There are apparently some logistics to organise but we are hopeful that the numbers, locations and briefings can be finalised by early next week.

Your USU/ASU representatives and organisers will also be on hand to also give members advice and information as required.
